Story
Batman: Arkham Asylum features an original story penned exclusively for the game by famous Batman author and five-time Emmy award winner, Paul Dini, whose credits include "Lost" season one and "Batman: The Animated Series." As the game begins Batman is personally delivering his nemesis, The Joker, to the asylum at Arkham Island, but he is uneasy. Although the Arkham asylum is well fortified, he has a nagging feeling that all is not well, which proves to be the case when seconds after turning The Joker over to the guards, the master criminal breaks free of his captors. Even more surprising than this quick turn of events is the revelation that it was never The Joker's intent to escape the vault-like facility, but instead to trap Batman there. Surrounded by an asylum full of dangerous criminals, many of which he put there and all at the beck and call of the Joker, can Batman survive and discover what is behind the Joker's intricate plot?

Gameplay
In Batman: Arkham Asylum players strap on the gadget-heavy utility belt of the Caped Crusader. Gameplay here is a combination of both the knuckle crunching rush of hand to hand combat as you take on the hordes of thugs that infest Arkham Asylum, and stealth gameplay in which you must dispatch individuals from the shadows. Players can expect an engrossing single player campaign in which Batman continually moves forward to face the henchmen, bosses and traps that The Joker has set for him. With regards to opponents, in addition to The Joker who you will hear more than you see, the dark walls of Arkham also hold familiar villains from the the Batman criminal universe including Harley Quinn, Victor Zsasz and Killer Croc, that you will have to deal with, but don't expect a one-dimensional experience. As players progress from environment to environment within Arkham they will have to use varying combinations of muscle, detective skills, gadgetry and a certain degree of light RPG-like leveling of Batman's skills, arsenal and physical characteristics to survive and discover what The Joker's underlying scheme is.

In addition to the story-driven single player campaign Arkham Asylum also contains various additional play modes. These include an arcade styled combat mode where players accumulate points by engaging hordes of thugs in a hand to hand slugfest across a series of maps, in which Batman's physical strength and agility play a major role. The key here is to chain together as many attacks as possible due to the fact that with each successful combo players increase the point multiplier associated with their actions. The game also features a time-based stealth mode where players must hone their ability to strike silently from the shadows. This gameplay, referred to as 'Invisible Predator' utilizes the Dark Knight's skill with gadgets like the grapple tool, batarang and explosives. These allow for vertical/horizontal mobility, the ability to quickly strike from above and at a distance and to take out enemies and create distractions, even through walls. But remember that Batman works solo and is not superhuman. Your enemies will congregate around trouble areas and work as a team against you, so you must be silent, plan your attacks wisely, strike quickly and discover the value of encouraging fear within enemies.

Uncharted 2 Game of the Year Edition is a Must Buy if you've never played the game before as it includes almost all downloadable content that later came after its release (Sidekick Skin Pack not included). If you have the original case, beware for you're just buying the same game with a code to get all the dlc. I sold my original copy to get this version and realized there really wasn't much of a difference besides having a new maybe better cover.

If you have the original game, no need to get this version for you really don't lose out. Here's an example. I sold my original copy for 25$. This version costs .99 plus tax which comes out to be like bucks or something. That's a difference of .00. This edition comes with extra content that values up to . If you do the math I really only saved by getting all this content. It'a deal, but not much. Also who knows if you can even get a value of dollars for your original. Gamestop was only going to give me 12 bucks for it. Of course I didn't except and gave them a big "you know what"

I actually don't mind this purchase at all for I never bought any of the add ons, but I can imagine others who might have or just some. You'll probably be a little peeved after the purchase. To make my point, New Buyers for sure get this version. This game is awesome and it's a Great Deal. Original game owners, just keep your game with the content you bought.

Story
In Uncharted 2: Amongst Thieves fortune hunter Nathan Drake embarks on a journey that will push him to his physical, emotional and intellectual limits to discover the real truth behind the lost fleet of Marco Polo and the legendary Himalayan valley of Shambhala, more commonly known in the west as Shangri-La.

In 1292 Marco Polo departed the court of Kublai Khan in China with 14 ships filled with over 600 passengers and crew. Eighteen months later only one ship remained and 18 passengers survived. Marco Polo never revealed what happened to these lost ships. Embarking on a quest to find the lost fleet, fortune hunter Nathan Drake soon realizes Marco Polo was hiding a much bigger secret - he had gone on a secret expedition to find the mythical kingdom of Shambhala and to recover the legendary Cintamani Stone, the "Wish-fulfilling jewel" of Buddhist mythology. With this new information Drake settles on a new course, following Marco Polo's trail through a diverse range of exotic environments. This quest also pits him against a new, more formidable adversary - a ruthless, rogue paramilitary leader with a private army and a relentless ambition to recover the stone for himself.

Gameplay
Although gameplay in Among Thieves is similar to that of the previous game, there are several major differences. The most important of these is the addition of several online multiplayer options. Unfortunately, no offline multiplayer could be included in the game due to the impact local split-screening has on the game's graphical quality. Thankfully though, the online modes included cover both co-op and competitive play. See the feature list below for details on these. In addition to play modes players can also expect a wealth of new gameplay features including a new stealth gameplay mechanic and altered climbing mechanic--both of which are extended to the AI of enemies; the ability to create cover by flipping over certain found items; the use of riot shields for defense and offense; and a complete lack of loading screens.

The Single player of this game is the best of 2010 if you ask me the makers of single player aka danger close should of been the ones to make the multiplayer the multiplayer was a joke the sound effects and everything was not even like the SP of this game the single player had probably the most realistic sound effects i ever heard in my life of gaming i cant wait to see what else Danger close comes out with in the future years I now have 2 favorite gaming makers now Crytek and Danger Close.

Demon's Souls is a very interesting alternate take on the typical RPG. I found the actual gameplay to be surprisingly different from what I expected in the many reviews. It is certainly true that you will die a lot, and often unexpectedly. However, there are many ways to actually exploit this for your own benefit.

The plot itself is vague, perhaps purposefully. But generally you select a player class, and then try to hack your way through various levels of foes, culminating in eventual boss battles. Along the way, any foe you defeat will result in "souls" -- the game's equivalent of gold or Zenny -- accumulating in your pocket. The souls you gather are used to buy, repair, or upgrade equipment, or eventually purchase stat increases for your character. However, you gain souls even for enemies you don't kill yourself. In 1-player, as far as I can tell, any time any hostile foe dies anywhere on the level, you get their souls. This is true no matter how far away you are at the time, if you had nothing to do with their death, or even if they somehow managed to kill themselves. This is a neat feature, as I'll discuss further below.

The rub with soul-gathering is that if (and when) you die, you lose all the souls you gathered and typically reanimate at a respawn point at the beginning of the level, with all your non-Boss enemies revived as well. You'll also be a "ghost" with 1/2 or 2/3 (if you have a certain ring) of your regular HP, making things a bit more challenging. If you make it back to where you died without dying a second time, you may recover your soul loot, but often you don't and it is lost forever. Sounds painful, right? Well, anyone who has played Diablo II or Borderlands or the like is already sensing the good times: this means that once you die the first time and are a ghost you can farm any level you feel like for souls. Nothing stops you from only clearing 1/2 a level, taking the souls back to the Nexus to buy more equipment or stats, and then rinsing and repeating all you want. You don't lose any of your equipment, only your "soul" money, so if you don't have much money at the moment there's little actual punishment for death.

Better still, any friendly NPCs you free that remain on the levels will often be there when you come back, and will wander off on their own killing foes for you -- and you get all the souls. And even better yet, there are often many different ways to kill your enemies. The environment itself is often a tool. Keep an eye out for traps you can trigger that will destroy foes for you. You can also exploit the violent tendencies of your enemies. Only a fool will charge straight into a group of enemies -- instead, use narrow stairways and blind turns as chokepoints to take them on one at a time. The elaborate 3-D environment of platforms, open staircases (think Mines of Moria-ish), switchbacks, and other devices provide both cover and ways to stage extremely gratifying ambushes. The very first level (known as 1-1) consists of an elaborate castle with one area guarded by an extremely powerful, red-eyed knight with a spear. He's almost impossible to hurt, let alone kill, at low levels. So why do it? Instead, just lure him past the trebuchets into the adjacent tower, which has a huge open air staircase descending many stories. Harrass him from a distance on the corners, and eventually he'll charge at you, miss a turn, and fall to his death. Bam, 2000+ souls. And he'll respawn just like everyone else if you reset the level.

Another great thing about Demon Soul's is that the designers were not completely heartless. It is indeed challenging to push into new, unknown areas and then die far from help. But often you will find switches that will open gates, start elevator devices, or make other structural changes to the level that are permanent regardless of respawns. These often establish short cuts through the level, so if you die later you can just go through the newly opened gate instead of tediously hacking your way the long way around. Given that you have effectively infinite lives if you don't mind losing a few "souls" from your money stash, you can even make mad banzai charges towards switches or gates when you have little to lose. If you do get out of your depth, you can try to retreat as far along your path as possible before you die, making it easier to get back to your body on the next try.

If you go into Demon Soul's with a Conan the Barbarian me smash style, you will be humbled a lot and probably give up on it. But if you adopt a more Lord of the Rings-y approach to the plot as well as a healthy paranoia, you will keep your shield up, peek around corners before taking them, and keep a close eye on your surroundings to watch for potential ambushes, traps, or switches. The game soon becomes extremely satisfying, if never easy. You have to think both strategically and tactically, and there are often ways around an "impossible" problem (such as plugging a resting dragon full of crossbow bolts so he doesn't show up later to burn you to death on an exposed walkway). The game is a nice mix of typical RPG features such as using healing items and finding new and exciting loot, and more adventure themed games that are not hack-and-slash. In a way it reminds me of the old ASCII games like Rogue or Angband in that you have to be very careful about how you push into new levels, and need to maintain discipline at all times. But at the same time, the gratification level when you do succeed can be well worth the trouble.

With this newest edition to the PS3 lineup, the "Slim" was definitely worth waiting for over the original console. Much in the same way as Playstation 2, Sony reduced the size, made it more energy efficient (read: less heat) and quieter. Also, its important to mention that, as with the PS2, the first generation of consoles are usually plagued by initial quality issues, mostly with the operation of the system. Such is the case with the PS3 as well. I decided to wait for the Slim because I knew they needed to time to work the bugs out, and I've always enjoyed the smaller, redesigned 2nd generation Playstation systems. My friends who own the 1st gen PS3 consoles have all had issues with theirs, one of whom has already replaced his 3 times! So for me, the PS3 Slim is a better buy. The Slim no longer has a multi card reader, PS1/2 playback, and 2 less USB ports. In my opinion, no big deal. What you do get in return is much better in the end. Blu-Ray playback is excellent, with decent load times. DVD playback is also great, as the PS3 upscales the image to near-HD resolution, breathing new life into your existing DVD library. This is great for movies/documentaries that are not available on Blu-Ray disc. The Playstation network is really cool, allowing you to connect with friends online, play them, as well as others in your favorite games. The PS3 is a multimedia powerhouse, everything you need in one small, efficient, attractive package. With this system, your home theater is a snap. Next generation HD gaming, online capability, Blu-Ray disc and DVD playback, and an upgradeable HDD to store games, pictures, music, video, etc. What's not to love? All you need is an HDTV, a PS3 Slim, an HDMI cable, and a 5.1/7.1/soundbar home theater system and your all set!

Gameplay

Although based on the classic arcade side-scrolling platformer and the string of games that have followed over the years, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a modern single player Action-Adventure game played from the third-person perspective. Based around the tragic past and seemingly inescapable destiny of the Gabriel Belmont character, the player engages in a mix of combat, platforming and puzzle-solving skills. To deal with the hell-spawned beasties and bosses encountered, Gabriel uses a mix of upgradable weaponry and magical powers. Weapons range from a cross that can be extended into a whip with grapple capabilities, to a gauntlet, knives and more. As players wield these they will gain access to energy orbs that reveal themselves as enemies are dispatched. This energy is stored in on-screen gauges and powers multiple kinds of usable magic within the game. Some of its uses involved improve attacks, while the other aids reflect regenerative health. It is the players choice to juggle where these energies are applied. The availability of energy can also be increased by avoiding the attacks of enemies as you battle them, with the payoff coming when they are bested.

In addition to run of the mill bad guys, the game contains loads of huge bosses, success against which requires patience, attention to screen prompts and timing. The player will also come up against many other creatures that although vulnerable to weapons can also be defeated and tamed by Gabriel. In many cases these can then be used as mounts and used either in boss battles or in puzzle-solving scenarios that may not be able to be solved without them. These potential mounts include wargs, spiders, warthogs and more. Taken together, all of these elements make for an entirely new take on the Castlevania gaming experience that is destined to satisfy new and current fans alike.

"Episodes From Liberty City Stories" is comprised of two games that were originally only available via downloading. They both use the world, gameplay, and story of "Grand Theft Auto IV". If you can stomach some of the problems with these two games, then this will be a fine addition to your collection.

The Two Games included:
* The Lost and Damned
* The Ballad of Gay Tony

The Premise
* Both games take place during Niko Bellic's criminal activities from "GTA 4". Although both have their own unique story, they will often center around what happened with the diamond heist that went horribly wrong in "GTA 4".

The Story
* "The Lost and Damned" chronicles the turmoils of a biker gang, currently led by Johnny Klebitz. However, when gang president Billy comes home from prison, Johnny clashes with Billy's more violent, care-free way of doing business.
* "The Ballad of Gay Tony" tells the story of Luis Lopez, a man who was saved from a lowly life of crime by Tony Prince, owner of the hottest nightclubs in Liberty City. But Tony's indiscretions and personal demons force Luis to get involved with some dangerous people to keep the businesses - and his personal & working relationship with Tony - stable.

Gameplay
* "The Lost and Damned" is heavily based around running with the biker gang. You often ride with other gang members to complete missions, your home is the L&D bar, and several members are available to call for backup or sell you weapons. Most of the missions take place in the state of Alderney.
* "The Ballad of Gay Tony" is mostly based in Algonquin, since that's where Tony's businesses and dealings are. You have your own safehouse and more fanciful wardrobe, and the gameplay is more similar to "GTA 4" where you tend to be more of a solo operator with some friends on the side.

Side Activites
* Both games feature unique mini-games outside of the main story. Because "Lost and Damned" is mostly based around the gang, your side activities revolve around them. You can fight Gang Wars, where your crew will try to take out some competing gangs. The biker hangout allows you to arm wrestle, gamble on a hi-low card game, and just hang out.
* "The Ballad of Gay Tony", on the other hand, allows you to fight in an underground fight club, do some baseline jumps off the skyscrapers, shoot at the golf driving range, help a couple of old friends with Drug Wars (take out the competition), and watch over one of Tony's nightclubs.

Either title's minigames are good and bad. It's nice to watch over a nightclub, but it gets repetitve. I love playing hi-lo, but you can't increase your gambling wage. The Gang and Drug Wars are very fun, but they don't do much except increase your completion percentage.

Which Game Is Better?
* I prefer "The Ballad of Gay Tony" in almost every way. I think controlling a motorcycle in any of the "GTA 4"-based games is annoying (though it's probably more realistic than past "GTA" games). I love doing missions in Algonquin (the Manhattan-inspired city), but pretty much hate doing missions in Alderney (the Jersey-inspired state). "Ballad of Gay Tony" is a more colorful story and world overall, whereas "Lost and Damned" features a more grungy, hardrock kind of backdrop. I had a hard time telling the L&D gang members apart; in "Ballad", I never once forgot who anybody was. I enjoyed the minigames in "Ballad" more than the activities available in "Lost".

Overall, I thought "The Lost and Damned" was a pretty good, whereas "The Ballad of Gay Tony" was even better.

OVERALL
* Now, I want to be clear about this: Both games are good, and both are worth playing. I just thought that "Ballad of Gay Tony" had a more compelling lead character in Luis Lopez, and the story flowed smoother from start to finish, especially since many characters play a part in the main story. In "Lost and Damned", I knew where the gang's infighting would lead, and I wasn't terribly surprised by the conclusion.

The great thing about "Episodes From Liberty City" is that both games are unique enough that there will fans of both. The bad side is that I believe players are gonna really like one, and feel indifferent towards the other, just like I did.

The sad part about this is that even when you combine the games together, there still isn't much to do compared to "Grand Theft Auto IV". The characters were deeper, the story more surprising, and the things to do to kill time more plentiful. These two expansions had a lot to live up to, and for the most part, they're satisfying add-ons.

I recommend picking this two-pack compilation up. Both "The Lost and Damned" & "The Ballad of Gay Tony" are good games. Just don't expect the masterful epic that was "GTA 4". They weren't meant to surpass that game in the first place.

Short and sweet: Killzone 2 is one of the best looking FPS i have ever played, and one of the smoothest too. The campaign is a little short though. Not too much of a need to play the first one, only if you want to familiarize yourself with someof the characters. The game does have a noticable freeze from loading but only in non crucial areas of the game like going up stairs or passing through a corridor hallway. Onlineis fun! fun! fun! Fast paced and hectic.

I honestly don't think I could go back to using my PS3 without this remote. Although I play a few games, a lot of the time the PS3 is on, its playing some sort of video. DVD, Blu Ray and Netflix Watch Instantly are enhanced so much by using the remote. The Controller is fine just to play and pause but one or both of the sticks inevitably gets knocked in the process bumping the video either forward or back. What makes me extremely glad to have a PS3 and not just a blu ray player however is the Bluetooth connection, used for both the controller and this remote, bluetooth allows the system to be controlled through the door of the cabinet in which it is housed. It use to be that someone would be distracted by the lights and close the door, but if the movie needed to be paused, the door would have to be reopened, not so anymore. Through walls, doors and around corners this remote works perfectly, and the ease of use it provides with watching films on the PS3 is priceless.

There are two features that this remote lacks, one is useless and one is important.
The feature that I never use and is not included is the ability to control FF speed between 1.0 and 3.0X which is accomplished normally with the right joystick. The feature which i wish had been thought out on this remote is a backlight. My TV remote has one so why shouldn't my DVD remote, no more fumbling in the dark would have been nice but was over looked.

I also don't understand why it doesn't use the same rechargeable battery system as the PS3 controller, maybe to keep the price down and the batteries last forever anyway so its not a big deal. Finally, one thing I wish was thought out on the remote is a keyboard. It has a number pad, but unfortunately it doesn't work like a phone when it comes to entering text.

My wife and I bought this game several months ago and we have played it almost every night since. It is that fun and addicting! You can tell this game was designed for co-op play with 2 players. Although you can certainly play it in single player mode with no problem--the computer will simply play the second character for you. This was our first "shooter" game and it took two evenings of playing to get used to the controls to the point where we could aim and fire the weapons fairly well. If you're not an experienced gamer you'll probably be frustrated by continuously dying the first couple hours you play until you get the hang of how to use your weapons. Persist past this initial difficulty and you will love this game. It has 4 difficulty levels, so as your skill increases you can put it on harder levels and still have a fun challenge. Basically, your first time through the game will probably take you several days as you take on a chapter or two per day. The computer saves your progress as you beat each chapter. This way you can either go back and play any chapter you've already beaten or else continue the story and go on to the next one. The game has lots of "unlockable" content as well as "downloadable" content if your game console is hooked into the internet: additional costumes for the characters, mini-games within the main game, etc. Once you complete the entire game once, you unlock a mini-game called "The Mercenaries" which is a short (from 2 - 7 minutes)and very intense game where you are in a confined area swarming with zombies. Your goal is to not get killed while killing as many of them as possible before time is up. This, again, can be played either single player or co-op with a partner. It's fun but also difficult and frantic. Also, once you beat the game once you can play through again in single player mode as either of the two characters, whereas before that you can only play as Chris, the male character. The game has lots of weapons (handguns, shotguns, rifles, machine guns and others . . .) that are found as you play through the game. One of the addicting things is trying to collect enough money (in the game you find gems and sacks of gold) which you trade in to upgrade weapons. Fully upgraded weapons can have unlimited ammunition. Replaying your favorite chapters with infinite ammo on your favorite weapons is a lot of fun. After you've played through the main game and gotten tired of it you can play the Mercenaries game mentioned earlier or even download mini-games from the internet for a small fee. There is a downloadable game called "Desperate Escape" which is just like the main RE5 game but with two different characters and it is great fun. Well worth the cost. The only negative I can think of is that since the game is violent and somewhat graphic, you can't play it when younger kids are around. We wait until our daughter is asleep before playing!

Hera por ejemplo deberia ser mas fuerte que las hermanas del destino y en este juego ¿como esta? como una @#$%&(/). que disfruten el video en donde zeus es apuñalado hasta morir. I am a huge fan of Devil May Cry game and heck&slash genre. Since Bayonetta is created by Hideki Kamiya, the creator of the original Devil May Cry and the inventor of the heck and slash genre, I felt obligated to try Bayonetta out. Simply put, the game just blew my mind and here is why.

-EXTREMELY DEEP AND ELEGANT COMBAT SYSTEM: Just like devil may cry games, this game has amazing combat system. You will be amazed by how many different types of combos you can pull of using hand to hand as well as weapon combats. Furthermore, as you master these combos, you will enjoy this game more and more. Normal and difficult modes of this game are mainly designed for people who take joy in mastering and exploring different combos and use them to punish enemies; however, if you are a button masher don't worry. Easy and very easy mode will take you through the game, performing various combos by the taps of the same button.

-LODS AND LODS OF WELL DESIGNED WEAPONS: In this game you have access to 11 or so special weapons that are specifically made for Bayonetta throughout the game and 4 or more special weapons you can unlock by meeting certain requirement. You will also have access to 7 or more enemies weapons. You can equip two sets of weapons at the same time so there is a lot to experiment by pairing different weapons to punish enemies.

-EPIC BOSS BATTLES: To me a game is no good if it does not have good bosses. Fortunately this game has plenty of awesome boss fights. God of War and Devil May Cry games are my favorite games of all times because of the boss battles, but some boss battles in Bayonetta even goes beyond any God of War or Devil May Cry game. Unfortunately, I can not tell you about some of the most spectacular boss battles without spoiling the experience.

-VARIETY OF ENEMIES: So many games these days have the same enemies over and over again. Not Bayonetta though. It will start with some relatively easy enemies, but as you further progress in the games, the enemies will get stronger, harder, faster and more interesting. Again, can't tell you more without spoiling the content.

-AMAZING SUMMONS: With difficult enemies and bosses, you need strong moves to finish them, right? No worries, Bayonetta can summon 10 (if not more) ridiculously powerful monsters from Hell to finish off your opponents. As you progress further and further into the game, Bayonetta will summon more and more stronger monsters. Believe me there is no better way to finish a battle than annihilate your opponent using these creatures.

-SPECTACULAR LEVEL DESIGNS: Different levels/stages in this game are very well designed. Most game you are standing on flat land from beginning to the end. Not in Bayonetta though. You will be walking on the walls, running on the ceilings, jumping from a chunk of a land flying in space to other, surfing in the ocean and everything that you never imagine a game could make you do. THE BEST PART HERE, the camera angles changes accordingly, so it doesn't confuse you and allows you to make the best move possible. I just loved the whole experience.

-TRANSFORMATION ABILITIES: Being a witch, Bayonetta can transform into lightning fast panther, elusive bats or flying crow. These transformations are extremely useful in the combat. Being able to transform into bats right as an enemy hits you to evade his attack, JUST PRICELESS.

-WITCH TIME: Another great feature of the game. Dodging an enemy attack at the right time slows time and gives you upper hand to punish the enemy making the gameplay so much more enjoyable.

-VARIETY OF GAMEPLAY: While majority of game is heck and slash fighting, you will also be doing cool things like riding bike and other things (really don't want to spoil it more). At the end of each level, you will get to play mini game called Angel Attack. This keeps the gameplay experience fresh and prevent the game from being redundant.

-DECENT STORY: While it is not the strongest element of this game, it has fairly decent humorous story. Under most scenarios due to cultural differences, sense of humor is very different in Japanese games from the Westen games. Honestly for me though, different jokes in the games made me laugh hard. Cinematic were decent and if you want detailed version of the story, there are plenty of documents you have access to throughout the game.

-PLENTY OF UNLOCKABLES AND GREAT RE-PLAYABILITY: There are a lot of accessories (helps you with combat), combat moves, characters, weapons and costumes you can unlock in the game by spending halos you get from defeating enemies. Plus, there are hard and extra hard modes to the game. It will be difficult if not impossible to unlock everything on your first playthrough. Good thing here is you can keep all the things you have unlocked and use them when you play the game again and unlock more awesome items. This truly adds replayability value to the game.

Now like many of you the first time I saw Bayonetta, I was like what the hell is this creature? After playing this game, it totally makes sense to me. She is designed in this particular way because she is a witch and to appreciate the beauty of this design, YOU MUST PLAY THIS GAME.

So all and all this game will make you go through the experiences you will not see coming and before you know it, it will get you addicted. BELIEVE ME, I JUST FINISHED IT FOR THE FORTH TIME.

Bioshock is a very unique, very fun first person shooter with an engaging, dystopian storyline and an environment that oozes with feeling. Set in an underwater city called Rapture, you use a combination of weapons and genetically enhanced abilities known as Plasmids to accomplish tasks that slowly reveal the mysteries of Rapture and its apparent destruction from within.

Bioshock has been endlessly praised for its environment, and this praise is justified. Rapture is an isolated, haunting place that throws the player into roller coaster of feelings with its odd mix of the familiar and the bizarre. The game looks incredible with beautifully rendered environments and amazing effects (dig the water!) and the performance on the PS3 was practically flawless and glitch-free. While after a while the look of the areas could sometimes borderline on monotonous, everything is kept fresh with the incredible sense of time and place. Bioshock takes place in 1960, and Rapture, as a city built by those who chose to flee American society and create a type of Ayn Rand-esque Utopia for themselves, retains that old time feel of mid 20th Century America in a way that, despite its startling contrast with its steampunk backgrounds, still feels very natural and genuine.

Another area where Bioshock really excels is in its sound design. This game begs to be played with surround sound. The excellent sound effects and ambient noises come from every angle and really help create a very high level of suspense and intensity. Hearing enemies from a distance but not being able to actually see them was very creepy, and the way my subwoofer rumbled when a Big Daddy was in the vicinity got my heart racing every time. Again, the developers have done a splendid job of creating a fantastic environment that stays in your head after you put the controller down, and the sound is a huge part of this.

The biggest flaw of Bioshock for me was the ability to re-spawn after getting killed and have the enemies be in the state you left them before you died. This made pretty much every enemy, with the exception of the final boss, beatable just by simply re-engaging them over and over again, as they wouldn't recover their health. A system of checkpoints, where you'd return to a save point and have to start the fight all over again, would have made the game much more challenging. From my understanding, the PS3 version has a patch that allows you turn off the vita-chambers (aka re-spawn points) so that you can do just that, but I was unaware of this until after I beat the game.

Also, the game description of the box touts the fact that you must make philosophical choices to determine the fate of the civilians of Rapture, and I've heard other's discuss this element of the game as well. In reality, this is a very light aspect of the game and not very deep or involved at all. Especially right after playing a game like Dragon Age: Origins where you have to make so many very difficult choices that have immediate and long term effects on your overall experience with the game, the "choices" of Bioshock seem like philosophy for middle schoolers in comparison. So while the decision making is an element of the game, I don't feel it's a strong point and feel there are lot of other great things about Bioshock that FAR outshine this aspect.

Overall, I really enjoyed Bioshock a lot and would highly recommend it. It has a great combination of strong gameplay, intriguing story, fantastic environments, intense action and hardcore suspense to keep you coming back for more. Turn the sound up and enjoy!

I liked this game. However, although I think this game is technically more fun than the last Prince of Persia, I truly enjoyed the last game more. The story in the last game was much more captivating, and the prince was a lot more interesting. Visually, I also enjoyed the last game more.

Good: There are a lot of cool things about this game. First, I'm glad Ubisoft decided to go back to the roots of Prince of Persia, which involves a lot of timing, booby traps, levers to open timed doors, etc. There are also some cool powers like freezing water, and reversing time.

Bad: There were a number of times where the camera bugged me. This is especially annoying when you have to make a series of jumps and you can't turn the camera to see where you need to go. I also don't like that I can't control the camera enough to truly enjoy the visuals of the game. There are many points where I just want to admire the graphics and I can't do it because the camera immediately turns back on you. The story is predictable. Not terrible, but not extremely interesting either.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this game, especially to Prince of Persia fans.

I had this game for about a year and it never gets old. The ability to Play, Create and Share is endless as you go threw the game to unlock costumes, stickers and materials. If you want the adventure go on and you have PSN, you can play and talk with friends (limit of 80 friends) and play there levels and they can play yours (limit of 20 published levels). Wile you can play threw 2.7million levels you can also publish levels and put keys in thumb to show your levels to everybody in the LBP universe. The action deus not stop there,(must have PSN) you can also download costume packs/level packs levels for about 2-6 dollars. If you had the original save file then your in luck, every thing is in this game. All and all the story is no questions asked five stars. It is impossible to not like this game, so watt are you waiting for. buy it

This was definitely a great game. Are the critics comments dead on about this game? In many instances yes but honestly I never felt that it detracted from the game at all. Is it a lot like Zelda...YES... but imagine it more adult, less fairies and more action and blood. Is it like Devil May Cry..YES... but not nearly as much button mashing and minus the hardcore skill aspect. The story was great, the graphics were a pleasure to look at through out the whole game. Some aspects were a bit simplified but some of the devices and puzzle solving involved were unique and fun to solve. Overly hard? Not really but I wasn't bored while I was playing it at all. Best way to describe it is: interactive video game comic book. Recommmend this to anyone looking for a fun game that can be played at a laid back pace.

Darksiders Specifications

Darksiders is a third-person, single player action/adventure game inspired by the characters, themes and mythology of the apocalypse and the battle of Armageddon described by the Book of Revelation. But this modern interpretation is not your run of the mill Sunday school stroll through the New Testament. In the game players take on the role of "War," one of the dread Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. But things are not as they were.

Once the unstoppable and just wielder of divine retribution, War is now reduced in stature and cast out amongst the ruined lands of the Earth that he himself devastated. All that remains is the search for the truth behind his betrayal and the survival of its consequences.

The Story
Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War - the first Horseman of the Apocalypse - stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between heaven and hell. Dishonored and stripped of his powers, War must return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible. But there is no clear definition of good and evil in this tale. Hunted by a vengeful group of angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vindication. But the answers he seeks will reveal a deep conspiracy in which War will find, and have to resign himself to the reality that although once the hand of God, he is just a pawn in the eternal battle between heaven and hell.

Gameplay
A mix of exploration and fast-paced action gameplay, Darksiders is based on nonlinear play situations. That means that as War slowly regains his previous powers of destruction and carnage in order to continue his search for the origins and reasons for his betrayal, players will be able to backtrack to areas and scenarios that they may have left unexplored upon first discovery. Almost all areas of the game can be explored and some of the things players will find as they do so are treasure chests, health chests, and bonus life points, etc. The ability to go back and explore areas is important, especially as the game progresses and War finds himself up against enemies whose defeat require special skills and/or weaponry.

As for combat gameplay, Darksiders features a variety of weapons--including blades and firearms--that can be used in combo moves or in single strikes. Some of these can be charged up for quick, but devastating attacks on enemies and all can be arranged on your controller's D-pad for easy and preferred access. Additional gameplay elements include the ability/necessity to fight from the back of your mount, Ruin, and the collection of the souls in the form of glowing orbs that fall to the ground as enemies are dispatched. The latter can be used to level up War with new items and abilities.

Varied Characters and Environments
Although players take on the imposing role or War, Darksiders also contains a wide variety of equally intriguing and sometimes frightening characters. These include: an assortment of vengeful angels; demons, such as "the Jailer" whose body is made up of the remains of countless cadavers; a bestiary of wicked and vile creatures created to bolster the armies of hell on Earth; and Ruin, the trusty steed of War. Gameplay environments players will experience are equally varied, and include areas both underground and on the surface, that call to mind both familiar, if ruined modern urban environments, as well as ones seemingly pulled from the nightmarish scenes of the biblical apocalypse.
